Arc-Delia is a city in the State of Faerenil, on the continent of the same name. It is the largest city on the continent and renowned for its magical academy.

Description[edit | edit source]

According to Beladria, Arc-Delia's location was selected for the magical ley lines running beneath it. She also claimed that the arcane energies of these ley lines make the grass in Arc-Delia purple, although this has not been verified by the Champions Valoris and Jorah Wolfwood was skeptical of this claim. Like much of the State of Faerenil, Arc-Delia's population is overwhelmingly comprised of high elves. There is some evidence that those who aren't high elves are discriminated against, such as the fact that non-high elves are very rarely accepted into Arc-Delia's magical academy. Damien Wright's attendance as an earth genasi was attributed to their extreme aptitude for the arcane arts. Arc-Delia's magical academy is considered on par with the Academy of the Archmagi in Atemcester, and arcane magic is held in similar regard within the city. Arc-Delia is the only major city outside of Lyvernus with a circle at Atemcester's Teleportation Nexus. While Arc-Delia's mages brew potions for export and craft magical items, the goods they export largely fill different needs than the magical items crafted in Atemcester. They mostly focus on crafting non-magical items through magical means, reducing the labor and costs. For example, Arc-Delian mages have been hired to engrave a large quantity of stone in Falas in a much shorter amount of time than it would take mundane craftsmen. Goods from Arc-Delia are also advertised at the markets in Rivermouth.

History[edit | edit source]

Before becoming the arcane advisor of Emperor Karseidon II, Damien Wright studied at the magical academy in Arc-Delia.

Arc-Delia was one of the cities on the list kept by Thorak Fireaxe, which mostly named the locations of the Abyssal Crests. However, Arc-Delia was marked with a question mark and ultimately was not home to an Abyssal Crest. The Champions Valoris did not visit the city during their campaign against the Heritors of Flame, and the reason for its inclusion on the list is currently unknown. However, Beladria, an envoy from Arc-Delia and an old friend of Damien Wright, attended Karseidon II's remembrance ceremony. Her observations and testimony wound up being crucial to determining Keld Norre's identity as the traitor within the Falassian court.
