Balgrus was a human man living in Port Valor. Rescuing him was the first task undertaken together by the adventurers who would become the Champions Valoris.

Description

Appearance

Balgrus was a human man with brown hair and a nose piercing.

Personality

None of the Champions Valoris got to know Balgrus particularly well. However, he was shaken by his ordeal in the mine and very thankful to have survived it, freely giving the treasures he found to his rescuers.

Biography

Background

Balgrus owned a mine about a day's travel away from Port Valor. One day, he discovered a box of treasures in the mine, and called his brother, Alexandrius, out to the mine to see it. However, when Alexandrius arrived, the two brothers were attacked by a group of goblins, working under orcs from the Fireaxe Clan. Alexandrius managed to escape, but Balgrus was trapped in the mine, at some point becoming sealed in a small section of the mine by a cave-in.

The Adventure Begins

The Champions Valoris were hired by Alexandrius to find and rescue Balgrus. They eventually managed to hear his voice coming from behind the cave-in and successfully cleared the rocks, freeing him. Balgrus thanked his rescuers and gave them a box of valuable items that he initially wanted to show to Alexandrius. The party escorted him back to Port Valor, where he was reunited with his brother.

The Streets of Port Valor

After his rescue, Balgrus referred one of his friends, a lumberjack who had lost his grandfather's axe in a forest filled with giant spiders, to the Champions Valoris for help. However, between the party's more pressing concerns about their troubles with the Broken Crown and the lumberjack's racism toward the drow members of the party, his request for assistance was denied.

The Fall of Port Valor

Balgrus perished in Thorak's attack on Port Valor, and his soul captured in the purple orb that was bound to Slumberjack's hand, where he was trapped in torment. It is unknown if his body was recovered.

Knightfall

When Kilwin was unbinding the orb from Slumberjack's hand, Balgrus was one of the souls who called out to him for aid.

Balgrus presumably wanted his mine to succeed. However, after his brush with death, he seemed happy to just be alive.

Balgrus presumably had some skills related to his profession as a miner, but the party spent little time with him and never learned about them.
