Quilius is an elven bard and adventurer, originally hailing from Malino're.

Description

Appearance

Quilius is an elven man. He wears light leather robes and has a lute strapped to his back.

Personality

Quilius is self-confident to the point of haughtiness. While Bethelia and Torbin have said that Quilius is nice when you get to know him, he was quite abrasive when he met the Champions Valoris, accusing them of incompetence due to Bethelia's injuries, and wholly focused on the hag issue. However, the siblings' defense of Quilius likely has merit, as he willingly offered directions to a likely location of the hags' lair once the party rescued his group from an otyugh.

Biography

Background

Considering his familiarity with Malino're during the Bloomshower Fest and wood elf heritage, Quilius likely grew up in Malino're. He seems to be friends with Bethelia and Torbin, and at least known to Wyrran. At some point, he struck out on his own as an adventurer and met his other three companions, including Brumi, a dwarven cleric. His other allies are a human spellcaster and a tabaxi.

Pestilence and Partings

Quilius attended the 598 Bloomshower Fest with his adventuring party. At one point, he encountered Erak looking to bet on Reides's ability to bob for apples. While Quilius called it a weird thing to bet on, he took up Erak's offer for 5 silver. When Reides dropped the apple on his way up, Quilius told Erak to pay up, but was confused when Erak gave him twice the agreed amount and told him to share a treat with a friend. The party encountered Quilius again after rescuing Bethelia from the hags. He mockingly asked if Erak was there to give him more of his money. He blamed the party for Bethelia's injuries, saying that they should have prevented the attack in the first place, and that they were too incompetent to deal with the hags permanently. Quilius led his party to investigate the hags and their possible replacement of prominent figures in Malino're. Unfortunately, they were led astray by one of the hags, disguised as Merellien, the vice headmaster of Malino're's Druid School. Along with his companions, Quilius was attacked by an otyugh and caught in an arcane trap. While he was technically protected by the trap's barrier and Brumi tended to his more serious wounds, Quilius could do little but wait for his fate. The Champions Valoris were also caught in this trap, but managed to slay the otyugh, freeing both groups. Quilius gave the Champions Valoris directions to a cave that was likely the hags' lair before returning to Malino're with his companions to recover from the encounter.

Character Information

Goals

Quilius's wider goals are unknown, although during the Bloomshower Fest, he was focused on making the hags pay for what they did to Bethelia. When his group proved not to be up to the task, he ceded the task to the Champions Valoris.

Abilities

As a bard, Quilius is presumably an accomplished spellcaster with some musical talent. The lute he carries may be his instrument of choice. He also likely has an innate ability to blend in with the forest, like most wood elves.

Relationships

Quilius and Brumi

As adventuring companions, Quilius and Brumi have presumably faced a lot together and are quite close. Possibly as a result, Brumi seems familiar with a number of people around Malino're, despite the city's isolationist nature, suggesting that Quilius had introduced his friend to people from his past. However, when their party failed to deal with the hag threat, Quilius was somewhat more reluctant to admit that the other adventurers were better equipped to handle the situation, provoking some mild aggravation from Brumi.
