The Broken Crown
The Broken Crown was a criminal organization operating in Port Valor. At the time of their dissolution, the group was led by Tyrian Vordt.

It is unknown exactly how long the Broken Crown operated or if it had a leader prior to Tyrian. The organization was responsible for much of the crime in the slums of Port Valor and operated out of several locations throughout the town. Members carried a coin with an image of a broken crown stamped on it as proof of their allegiance. Tyrian likely used his ties to the group to orchestrate his rise as an advisor to Count Corvus, frequently relying on Nivex the Poisoner to assassinate those who would get in his way. He also planned to use the group to stage an uprising, allowing him to assume control of Port Valor in the wake of Corvus's assassination, also engineered by Tyrian using his connections to the group.
However, before this could happen, Slumberjack, following a vision from their Guide, went to a tavern in the slums called the Twisted Nail, where a recruiter for the Broken Crown worked, to attempt to join the organization. When they were not readily accepted, they started a fight. Beaten and forcibly ejected from the tavern, Slumberjack returned to their new adventuring companions and, claiming that they were attacked for their drow heritage, convinced them to accompany them back to the Twisted Nail for a rematch. The fight turned bloody quickly and all of the Broken Crown members inside were killed. Tyrian took this as a personal slight and the people responsible for the carnage became the Broken Crown's number one enemy, with Tyrian hiring divination mages from Atemcester to track the culprits. In order to disrupt the Broken Crown's operations enough to stop the investigation, the Champions Valoris began targeting the group's lieutenants. In the course of their attack, they uncovered the plot against the Count and were able to inform him of Tyrian's treachery. Although the Broken Crown still rioted and caused much destruction in Port Valor, they were ultimately stopped by the town guard and Tyrian was killed by the Champions Valoris. With the death of their boss, the Broken Crown was considered informally disbanded. While the Count speculated that remnants of the Broken Crown remained in Port Valor and wrote to the Emperor of their deeds, it is unknown if any of these remnants survived Thorak Fireaxe's attack on the town.
